Shop-owners from a particular generation, who offer certain goods and services are, just as in other parts of the western world, slowly disappearing from the Dutch urban landscape. Helmink’s photographic project has taken him all over the Netherlands to catch a glimpse into the various realities of the owners and their fascinating interiors that form their individualized worlds.
