Miesenberger approaches her subject matter, childhood, from a distinctly modern perspective, aiming to de-romanticize a commonality that must remain supremely individual. Her unfocused, black silhouettes can be both inviting and disturbing. Add to this her hand-sewn, headless rubber dolls and the feeling of imbalance intensifies. An excellent introduction to her work.
