Farewell, Promised Land: Waking from the California Dream

Known primarily for his elegiac, and surrealistic, images of water in the west, this project represents Robert Dawson, alongside historical geographer Gray Brechin, taking a more thorough reckoning of the state of California's environment. In thematic chapters on loss, mining, farming, cities, energy, and health the two present striking, sobering evidence of great concern.
