Publisher's Description
Two New Books by Brassai: Henry Miller, Happy Rock & Conversations With Picasso
The Hungarian photographer known as Brassai, whose seminal photographic books include Paris by Night and Graffiti, was an intimate member of the French avant-garde scene that centered around the neighborhoods of the west bank of Paris between the two World Wars. He was an active reader/thinker and over the decades maintained an ongoing written correspondence with two of the most prominent figures of that period-Pablo Picasso and the American-in-Paris writer, Henry Miller. The University of Chicago, who has also published Brassai's Letters to My Parents (Cat# UC051H, $29.95), has now published this correspondence in 2 separate volumes.
