Embrace

Embrace

by Alon Levin

Fear of drowning was always there with me as a child. I never drowned but the thought of suffocating by water always terrorized me. I read dozens of drowning stories told by survivors, and what fascinated me was a stage that many have described in which, after all the panic and the urge to live is extinguished, the survivors describe a state of euphoria and calmness, embracing their own death. This phenomenon intrigued me, so I immediately knew, that this is the moment I’ve been looking to capture.
