MINERS - down the shaft

The photographs are a result of documenting in 2014 – 2019 dangerous and difficult everyday life in coal mines in Silesia. Many of them are already the third generation to spend their lives in coal dust.

In dust, noise and darkness, some hundred meters underground, in difficult climatic conditions: in temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius and high humidity. This is a difficult, noisy and dangerous “mining routine” during a Silesian miner`s shift, but also an exciting underground world of brave, strong and responsible people. Multilingual edition.
