Out of the Dark: Alternative Process Photography

This exhibition catalog features twenty-five artists currently working in alternative process photography. These artists push the traditional boundaries of photography into new territories by infusing new life into some of the earliest of antique photographic processes, combining traditional methods, blending digital imaging technology with analog, mixing images with other media, or fearlessly experimenting with the alchemy of darkroom chemistry in highly unorthodox ways. The results are a truly eclectic mix of innovative photographic artworks that are visually intriguing and often surprisingly abstract.
