Season in the Colors (함께한 계절)

Season in the Colors (함께한 계절)

by Jungsik Shin

Days with my father with Alzheimer's disease. A photo tour of a father who has lost his memory and a son who wants to remember him.

The photo book 『Season in the Colors』 contains photos and texts written while looking at his father who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The reason the son first decided to take a picture was an excuse to let his father go out rather than the thought of making a record. The father, who did not budge at all, began to respond to his son's request, 'Let's go out to take a picture' for some reason. Perhaps his father remembered himself as a young man who enjoyed filming his family with video cameras. Also, perhaps, the ‘photo tour’ with his son may have given his father the feeling of returning to his healthy days. A father who used to photograph his son behind the camera is now standing in front of his son's camera. The son who has become ‘Daddy’s daddy’ looks at his father as a child from behind the camera where you were before. The photo book 『Season in the Colors』 sprouted between a father who is losing his memory and a son who wants to hold on to time, remembers the seasons they spent together and promises the seasons they will be together.
