Yo, Domenge
by Bauti Nino, Cowan Lucas, Lozano Luis Martin...
This volume offers a tour of the outstanding life and creative career of a key figure in contemporary Mexican art, known for the monumentality of her creations, inspired by nature, science and ancestral codes. Her pieces, intended for both public exhibitions and private spaces, in Mexico and abroad, are exhibited, characterized by their complexity, beauty of forms and high compositional quality.
The book includes texts by renowned researchers who collaborated with the artist on some of her most iconic creations. Domenge's unstoppable thirst for knowledge and search, together with her taste for interdisciplinary work, led her to interact with eminent scientists, such as doctors Achim M. Loske, Miguel José Yacamán and Eduardo Chávez, as well as with the philosopher Juan Carlos Mansur, who transmits some dissertations here. The contributions of these specialists not only enrich the scientific and philosophical field, but also reveal Yvonne's intellectual and creative capacity. The exhibition also features texts by art critics such as Luis-Martín Lozano, Luis Rius Caso and Lucas Cowan, who also had the privilege of sharing the work process and analyzing the work of this artist. The paths of this artist, full of anecdotes and emotions, are detailed by the texts of family members and collaborators. Amazing images taken by photographers Guylaine Couttolenc, Michel Zabé and José Ignacio Gonzalez Manterola.
This project aims to open the door of the Yvonne Domenge Studio to make known the life and work of a great Mexican artist."
