Populace

Populace

by Forrest Walker

“Populace” is a limited edition book by Forrest Walker showcasing a candid photography project connecting 125 major cities across 85 countries by the amount of energy, unique interest and life each city contains, up close and personal. Large cities are known for their imposing infrastructure and modernized monotony, but over the course of a decade, photographer Forrest Walker focused down on the ground with the people to bring out the genuine, distinctive life from each city. Taking it from the Metropolis to the Populace to get inside and create more intimate images with all the life major cities can pack into one space. With these unposed images of natural life, Forrest Walker covered every region and culture as no photographer has before. “Populace” brings this all together, showing how we all live in the busy city, each different, but connected at the same time.

“What is a city, but the people; true the people are the city” (William Shakespeare, Coriolanus. Act III. Scene I).
