During a road trip of more than 9,000 kilometers, the authors went head to head with Dutch prejudices about Americans. From the West to the East Coast, from marsh to metropolis, from villas to cabins, they went in search of the American identity. On the basis of numerous encounters with Americans "from all walks of life, In Search of Americans draws a sincere and intriguing picture of American society. They dined with one of the most dangerous professors of the US, rode horses with black cowboys and followed a female chain gang in the toughest prison in the States. In Search of Americans is part of a cross-media project consisting of mini-documentaries and a Docu-Blog for the documentary channel, Holland Doc.
