...West Side Story is not just a study of urban topography, a journey through the western neighborhoods of Thessaloniki. It tells a somehow concealed story, through a penetrating gaze into the city’s crucible of people, where neighborhoods grew bearing the grievance of inequality in their bosom. It is, in a sense, the invisible side of a city - perhaps every city - deserving far more acknowledgement than it is hesitantly and belatedly granted. It is an oblique yet illuminating reflection of our other self, the one we often choose to ignore.
