RIVERVILLE

RIVERVILLE

by Martin Teodroro Raggio

RIVERVILLE - Interactive photobook Riverville recreates a society shaped by a strong interaction of subjectivities, a society capable of transforming itself in pursuit of its own survival: migratory movements, mixed unions, bodies meeting in a place on the verge of disappearing. Riverville is an ambiguous, strange place, constantly oscillating between reality and fiction. It is an endless game.” The characters appear as spontaneous street portraits—faces both familiar and strange, yet all united by the proud gesture of being citizens of Riverville. From the cover, designed as a map of maps, and through a QR code, one enters this city, which can be navigated and observed from different angles. Riverville speaks of the complexity of the world, of the darkness with which globalization seems to envelop our civilization. Walking through it triggers an alarm signal; confronting that reality makes us defenseless, but also more alert.
