Photography and the Old West

Published in association with the Amon Carter Museum of Western Art, this historical survey includes biographies of five important photographers of the West: Watkins, Bell, O'Sullivan, Muybridge, Hillers, and Jackson. Several lesser-known, but no less interesting, photographers are discussed in the context of their best known projects: Russell's documentation of railroad construction, George Anderson's photographs of Mormons, and many others.
