For God, Country, and the Thrill of It: Women Airforce Service Pilots in World War II (Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Texas Photography Series)

Portraits of the first women to be trained in the Army Air Forces in 1943 and of their reunion in 1986. Photographer Anne Noggle was one of these women and her forty-nine strong duotone portraits with thirty-nine historical shots portray what she saw as the eloquent testament of women and their role in society, as well as aging and how we look at it. A history of the Women Air Force Service Pilots accompanies the photographs.
