Aperture 103: Fiction and Metaphor

Included in Aperture's "Fiction and Metaphor" issue are samples of Chris Killip's work on Britain's impoverished sea coal miners, Larry Sultan's Reflections on a Home Movie, Nan Goldin's Ballad of Sexual Dependency, Cindy Sherman's photographs of herself posing as archetypal figures of horror, and of Querelle: The Film Book, a photo-novella of Werner Fassbinder's movie Querelle. There are also essays "Extending the Perimeters of Twentieth Century Photography" by John Bloom and "The Films of Danny Lyon: Of Myth and Men" by Belinda Rathbone. A varied and interesting issue.
