Every Seventeen Seconds: A Global Perspective on the AIDS Crisis

Since 1985, the photographer and AIDS activist, Brian Weil has been making extraordinary photographs at demonstrations, funeral parlors, hospitals, in X-rated clubs and on the street. He has photographed in America, Europe, Africa, the Carriean, and Thailand. His subjects include men, women, and children of all races, background, and sexual persuasion. These photographs have a surreal quality derived from Weil's use of high contrast and grainy texture.
