Aperture 145: Surface and Illusion: 10 Portfolios

Aperture 145 explores the physical qualities of photographs themselves, through explorations of works by the painters Picasso and Edvard Munch, as well as Gerhard Richter's nearly photographic paintings, and word/image compositions by Wim Wenders. The numerous portfolios are complimented by articles by Charles Hagen, Rosalind Krause, and David Fraenkel, among others.
