Aperture 150: Moments of Grace: Spirit in the American Landscape

Throughout history landscape has provided poets, artists, and, more recently, photographers with a means to imagine something larger than oneself: to see the hand of God, the presence of a creative force, or even the beauty of cold reason. Aperture #150 seeks to address the relationship between landscape and spirit, as seen in the work of Ansel Adams, Paul Caponigro, William Clift, Lois Conner, Lynn Davis, Peter Gasser, Sally Mann, Richard Misrach, Stephen Shore, Paul Strand, and Minor White, and others.
