Albert Renger-Patzch: Photographer of Objectivity

This extensive retrospective includes a thorough selection of Renger-Patzsch's images: both well--known icons from the New Objectivity movement and lesser--known landscapes, architectural studies, and images of trees and stones. Along with August Sander and Karl Blossfeldt, Renger-Patzsch established the basis for twentieth-century German photography's cataloging impulse. This monograph seeks to establish his reputation to a newer generation of photographers and includes a biography, bibliography, critical commentary, and some of Renger-Patzsch's own, never-before translated texts.
