Eikoh Hosoe: Photographs (Untitled 42)

Perhaps the most famous of the Japanese art photographers, Eikoh Hosoe continues to explore the inseparable link between art, imagination, and self. This new monograph contains work from his major series and books: Man and Woman, Embrace, Kamaitachi, and more recently Ba.Ra.Kei: Ordeal by Roses, as well as photographs not published before. Hill's introduction explores the unique character of Hosoe's photography. The printing by Gardner-Fulmer Lithography and design is typical of the high quality of the Friends of Photography publication series.
