Choreographer and dancer Arnie Zane began photographing in 1971, the year he met long time lover/collaborator Bill T. Jones. These works primarily consists of nudes and portraits, but there is a greater attention to the history of photography than might be imagined in the work of a part-time practitioner--notably in brilliant, Victorian images of Jones dressed as a Moroccan and shadowy, aestheticized nudes of an aged dancer.
