Enduring Culture: A Century of Photography of the Southwest Indians

In this book, portraits of people, ceremonies and villages in the American Southwest taken in the early part of the century are contrasted with current photographs of similar images. Keegan demonstrates the vitality of Native American culture and shows how the same customs and ceremonies are being continued. Some of the classic images by frontier photographers presented include works by Edward Curtis, William Jackson, Adam C. Vroman, Charles Lummis and John K. Hillers.
