Tchelitchev

A selection from sixty years of Teske's photographic work. Born in Chicago, Teske first worked in commercial studios photographing theatrical productions and artists' portraits. In 1937, Frank Lloyd invited Teske to stay and work in Taliesin, but the artist was drawn instead to Hollywood where, he had heard, "Greta Garbo walked along the beaches alone." He has continued to work in Los Angeles, using a process of overlaying and solarizing in the creation of his photographs. The elegance of his prints are captured in the large format, fine printing of this volume.
