Publisher's Description
Conceived as the central artery to England's road system, highway A1 was the first major road to run the entire length of the country. Photographer Paul Graham spent two years documenting the life along this route and has produced this view of English society in the early 1980s. Using view cameras, he photographs the buildings, the people, and the landscape along this vital highway. Graham's color vision is among the best of today's contemporary photographers.
