Chiostro, photographs of Italy

From the introduction by Ron Rosenstock: In the Christian tradition, the cloister, or CHIOSTRO (kee-o'-stro) in Italian, is a place of silent prayer. For centuries, monks have walked within and around the chiostro in religious meditation. For me, the physical space of the Chiostro represents an internal space -- one felt with the heart. It is a space in which I stop looking yet begin to see. It is a space in which confusion gives way to understanding. Working with my camera -- whether in cloisters, forests, villages or fields -- is my way of connecting to the spiritual realm.
