The Edge of Time: Photographs of Mexico by Mariana Yampolsky (Southwestern & Mexican Photography Series, Wittliff Collections at Texas State University-San Marcos)

Despite having emigrated to Mexico in the 1940s from the U.S., Mariana Yampolsky's identification with her adoptive homeland has made her one of the modern generation of quintessentially Mexican photographers. Her images begin within a documentary framework, but involve worlds of mystery and faith. This first retrospective of her work is a welcome addition to the library of Latin American photographers.
