Seventh in the series put out by Nishen's Photo-Library, these photographs have been selected from a series commissioned in the winter of 1940 by the British government to document the living conditions of those who took shelter underground during the German "blitzkrieg" of World War II. Each photograph is accompanied by an explanatory caption, and Mike Seaborne's historical introduction gives a background for this collection.
