Forms of Desire

As the only prominent female photographer to emerge from the recent fetishism movement, Doris Kloster exemplifies the participant/observer model. By photographing contemporaries and friends engaged in acts of alternative sexuality, Kloster manages to avoid exoticising, on the one hand, and stereotyping, on the other. Her images seductively speak of our darker, deeper sexual selves.
