Over the past thirty years, Candida Hofer has created meticulously composed images of the interiors of public and institutional spaces. In Hofer photographs, the spaces are marked with the richness of human activity, yet largely devoid of human presence. This book examines her unique oeuvre and her relationship to the renowned Dusseldorf school of Bernd and Hilla Becher.
