Peter Young had enjoyed a successful New York City art career for
nearly a decade, when in 1970, he left the city and dropped out of the
art scene completely, though his iconic work lingered in the minds of
the painters of his generation. Published by the PARC Foundation
in conjunct with Young’s first retrospective at P.S.1 Contemporary
Art Center, Paintings: 1963-1980 revisits seminal works Young created
in the first half of his career.
