Through 2004 and 2005 De Gorostarzu roved the streets of New York with her Hasselblad camera to capture the very essence of the city. Her unstaged photographs, taken during her chance wanderings and encounters, might seem odd and recall another age of photography, yet they are an accurate and unglamorous reflection of the Big Apple and its inhabitants.
