The photographs in this monograph, the first devoted to the entire oeuvre of Bernard Plossu, date from 1963 and 2006. As a collection, they form a sustained construction, a new photographic rhythm, a complex of images whose collected weight creates a more lyric sense of the world. Plossu's work here reveals the photographer to be a crucial link between American and European photography; the images form an artistic unity while spanning geographically from Egypt, Morocco, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma-all over the course of a few pages.
