Photographie Der Moderne in Prag 1900-1925

This beautiful anthology includes early twentieth-century images by some of Czechoslovakia's master photographers, including Vladimir Bufka, Frantisek Drtikol, Karel Nemec, Karel Novak, Josef Sudek, Josef Trcka, and others. In their essays (in German), authors Josef Kroutvor and Monika Faber present overviews of these photographers, and their dynamic era, which helped to bring modern art to Prague. Their landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and nudes reveal photographers exploring the possibilities of their art and discovering ways to break old boundaries.
