Publisher's Description
In the 1930s, painter, photographer and graphic artist Anton Stankowski began to establish a private archive of images for use in advertising. Influenced by greats like El Lissitzky and Kurt Schwitters, Stankowski developed his own style of strongly reduced, terse but witty images of things seen from unusual perspectives. Neglected in the artist's catalogue raisonné, the thousands of images Stankowski amassed are represented here by 180 select motifs.
