Loan Nguyen: De Retour

A photographic essay in which Nguyen accompanies her father to Vietnam, a country he left 38 years ago. Her images capturing his reunions with friends and places, are at once fascinating, often touched with melancholy, and poetical. At the same time she describes the experience of the journey to a familiar yet foreign country, and how this process helps her come to a better understanding of herself.
