About Candace Feit

Candace Feit is a documentary photographer and artist focusing on creating deep narratives of people and their relationship to their environments and the objects within them. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, National Geographic Magazine, U.S. News and World Report, Time Magazine and dozens of other print and online publications.

She shoots in 120mm medium format film, slowing down her image-making process and allowing her to compose images more deliberately, free from the constant shutter-click of digital photography. This also allows her to maintain a more intimate connection with her subject.

She's spent the last decade living and working in West Africa, South Asia and South Africa. She currently lives in New York.
