About Carin Verbruggen
At the age of 14, Carin Verbruggen picked up a camera for the first time, and instantly fell in love with photography as a medium. It was obvious that this was her tool to express herself and to show her view of the world. After graduating KABK (the Royal Academy of Art)
Following her ambition, in 1993 she moved from the Hague to Amsterdam where all major magazines, publishers, model- and publicity agencies are based. This was a well-planned move because she wanted to expand her work field and challenge herself to step up in artistry and professionalism. Soon after, she started working for magazines like Elle and Marie Claire and companies like Citroen and Canon.
Ferry Drenthem Soesman’s love for music, film, photography and fashion initially led him to be a light and sound technician for NDT (the Netherlands Dance Theatre) in the hague. Although he loved the art of dance and his job, this wasn’t his final destination. He decided to follow his own creative ambition.
In 1996 C&F not only became lovers but also partners on a quest for beauty, in which they share a strong passion for photography, music and art. It was the perfect time to start their collaboration: worldwide the analog and digital world started to merge. Taking full advantage of their different backgrounds and expertise they developed the perfect synergy between concept, photography, graphic design and digital art.
Ever since, their work has been published and used for fashion editorials, album covers, advertisements, websites, exhibitions and books worldwide. They have worked together with Porsche, Elle, Vogue, Marie Claire, Coca Cola, Randstad, IDT, Rituals, Philips, Candy Dulfer and Usher, just to name a few.
Their second book : with love, for love was published in 2013 at Lecturis publishing. It is a tribute to fashion designer Percy Irausquin.
