Dai Ito was born in Tokyo in 1978, and now he based in Tokyo, Japan. In 2001, he gathered some of his friends and started an independent art animation team "6nin". His role at 6nin was producer and director, also the music composer for their animation films. 6nin's films were screened at over 40 international animation film festivals all around the world, including Annecy, Zagreb also received awards in France and Japan.
After the disbandment of 6nin in 2007, he started to photograph as "Films, without a cinematic timeline, with a silent soundtrack". Photographs can capture a fixed point in time in the real world, as a frame, and writing allows us to move freely, beyond time and space. He thinks the combination of these two can bring about unseen stories and time not experienced. His past photo exhibitions including solo and group shows were held in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Strasbourg, Marseille, Berlin, Tecate, and many places.
