From a previous life as professional speechwriter, where words were my anchor - I am now motivated by the silence of images - and have surrendered to my first love - the world of art, as an art critic (Jentel Critic at the Bray) - faculty member at Photoworks/Glen Echo National Park - winter resident artist at Penland School of Craft and Board member and (arts writer) for the James Renwick Quarterly, the DC community arts group Day Eight and the Asheville, NC group Center for Craft. With art at the center of my life - as a teacher and perpetual student of seeing - I can go anywhere and unearth new sights.
