Etsuko Kato was born in Tokyo, Japan and is now based in Salt Lake City, Utah. In Japan she earned her BA in Business Administration and worked as a business consultant. After moving to the United States, she began preparations to get her MBA, however after taking a photography class her love of art was rekindled and she soon changed her program and obtained a BFA. She is currently working on her Master of Fine Arts/Photography degree at the University of Utah. Most of her time is spent in the dark room trying to find herself while using traditional and historical alternative processes such as cyanotype and albumen.
