I photograph details of buildings, nature, things that I find on the streets, mostly in Berlin. By isolating those details from their context, they undergo a transformation and become (minimalistic) objects in their own rights. A piece of plastic in a trashcan for example turns into an exotic flower. Or a motorbike cover into an elegant gown. I use photography as a magic wand to uncover the secret beauty and complexity of the seemingly ordinary and simple.
My collages are digital photo montages. The relationship of the self and of the body to its environment and the way the one might relate to the other fascinates me. This is what I explore in my collages.
