The city is my living studio - an urban reservoir of subject matter ripe with unlimited creative possibilities. In particular, the abundant and diverse vein of culture running through the city is coalescing, yielding and ever-changing. Most days, as I venture out, camera in hand, I never know what will resonate with me in a given moment – it’s truly an improvisational experience.
My subjects are varied. I photograph people, places and architecture at various times of the day and seasons. I gravitate toward abstract forms in color, texture, shape, and geometric lines, all which are plentiful on the city streets. I often begin by layering several photographs that I intrinsically feel may blend well together, until the project I have in mind takes on a life of its own.
Through the confluence of people, places and architecture, my abstract impressions are a palpable microcosm of urban life today. It is my hope that viewers make a visceral connection to the universal fabric of city life
