My background includes being a staff photographer for 15 years at the Los Angeles bureau of the Associated Press.
While there I was nominated twice by the A.P. for the Pulitzer Prize and was the recipient of the George Polk Award for news photography.
Prior to that I was a staff photographer with the United States Air Force followed by 7 years with the Valley Times, a daily San Fernando Valley newspaper.
Studied with artists Robert Heinecken, Ernst Haas, Marie Cosindas,
Ruth Bernhard, and Beaumont Newhall.
Wanting to reconnect with my fine art background, I left the A.P. to pursue my own work from a decidedly personal point of view.
During this time I freelanced for publications, including the New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, and US Magazine and had regular assignments as a corporate photographer.
This experience has led to a foundation of my current work which examines the intrigue of automobiles and how they fit into our landscape and ultimately our lives.
