Gianluca Calise is an Italian documentary photographer. He developed his passion for photography since young during the ‘70s when his grandfather gifted him with his own Kodak camera. Following a Master Degree in Economics, he later studied photography attracted by the possibility to represent social issues with images and not only with numbers.
His works mostly centre on themes related to identity, belonging and memory, some of them have been published and exhibited internationally. He currently lives and works in London and Rome.
