Jack was born and raised in New York City by two professional photographer parents, Alfred Gescheidt and Rae Russel. In 1987, he turned professional photographer himself. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1996. A lifelong nature lover, he began The TreeSpirit Project in 2005. Today he lives, works (and rejuvenates his soul) in the woods of west Marin County.
