Jamèl van de Pas (1997) is a young Dutch photographer known for his signature black and white photography.
A few weeks after buying his first camera in 2015, he entered a competition for the 100 best emerging photographers of The Netherlands which he would go on to win.
He also briefly started a photography study the same year, which he quickly decided to quit. Encountering the ideas infested in the photographic educational system made him aware of his aversion against commercial and conceptual photography, building the bases of his intuitive approach based on life experiences, emotions and encounters.
Since then, he has exhibited in multiple countries throughout Europe and Asia.
His photographic work has also been part of zines such as Oscura and Preto, as well as being featured on numerous websites ranging from P3 in Portugal to FNMNL in Japan.
