Ms. Chen holds an M.F.A in Narrative and Documentary Film from Parsons at The New School, a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Visual Communication from the University of California at Davis. She began her career in documentary filmmaking working for Albert Maysles. For whom she attributes his influence of capturing the everyday poetic rhythms of the world in her work. She currently works in documentary film, while pursuing her passion for fine art film photography.
Her award winning photography has been shown at The Soho Photo Gallery, the Sidney Mishkin Gallery and the Trestle Gallery in New York, along with the Vermont Center for Photography, Los Angeles Center for Photography and RayKo Photo Center in San Francisco. Ms. Chen's work is currently on view at the Catalina Art Association gallery in Avalon, CA. She is a three time featured artist at the underground RAW Artist Showcase in 2015 at the Highline Ballroom in NY and in 2016 at the Warsaw, in Brooklyn, NY, and the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, NY.
Ms. Chen resides in Brooklyn, NY. She loves coffee, pies and the Mets.
