Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccinni work focuses both on documentary projects and on more personal intimate photography. They have been working as freelances for the New York based agency Redux Pictures for several years.
Among their recent documentary projects, a series of features on the Donbass conflict, the consequences over people and environment of pollution in contaminated areas in Italy, religious pilgrimages in the era of Pope Francis, the Maidan revolution in Ukraine (this year exhibited in Malmö and Hannover "Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism" and received multiple HM at NPPA Best of Photojournalism).
Their work is regularly published on press worldwide in magazines such as Der Spiegel, The Sunday Times, Tyzden, Time Magazine, Internazionale and many others. The duo has published three books of black and white film photography: "Same Tense" (Witty Kiwi books), "Daily Bread" (T&G publishing) and "Forcella" an extensive work about a mafia ridden neighbourhood in Naples. Their polaroid series "War Dreams", focused on the expectations of soldiers going to the Ukrainian front line, has been shortlisted for the 2015 Delhi Photo Festival.
During 2014 "Daily Bread" has been exhibited in Sweden (Vasli Souza Galleri), Japan (Reminders Stronghold Gallery) and in Italy (Interzone Galleria).
