About Jose Saldana
Jose Saldana is from inner city Philadelphia. He studied film at Rochester Institute Of Technology, National Technical Institute of the Deaf, and Gallaudet University. Jose is an avid traveler, photographer, climber and filmmaker. He has been to 22 countries, including Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Nepal, South Africa, and Namibia. Aa a filmmaker for Deafnation, he also spent time in Israel, Hong Kong, Jordan, China and Macau. His mountain climbing adventures have led him on many treks throughout his travels to such places as the northern Alps in Italy, El Chalten and Mount Fitz Roy in Patagonia, the Himalayas near Tibet, and 30 other mountains up to 14,000 feet in altitude. He aspires to climb one of the highest mountains in Nepal with his friend Pasang Cuppa who runs a Himalayan mountain range trekking company. Jose's work has been published in the Durango Herald, Santa Fe New Mexican, and the Louvre Museum in Paris. The Outside Magazine Adventure Film school selected him to film the Teva Mountain Games in 2009. He is an active member of National Press Photographers Association. Jose also has exhibit his work at schools for the deaf and to local deaf communities in the US. He has a penchant for landscapes and portraits of people worldwide.
